The Kintanars have always loved pets. We had chickens, pigs, cows, deer, monkeys, rabbits, turtles, lovebirds, and even seagulls! Mid 1960's, we started taking care of dogs. Since the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. was established just about that time, we were not informed about pedigrees yet. All our dogs were paperless. It was in late 1971 when we purchased our first pedigreed Dobermann that our passion for the breed started.
We were very successful in showing our first Dobermann. He became Philippine Champion in no time! It was then that we decided to breed and improve our line. We purchased two foundation bitches and started breeding.
We used our dogs primarily for guard work. Our dogs were responsible for keeping crooks out of our tiny sari-sari store. They did extremely well that we became known in our neighborhood as the Kintanars, the "Dobermann people." As the decades went by, more and more people learned about us. We aimed -- and still continue to aim to produce better and better dogs -- bred to the standard, with temperament not compromised. We have produced the Philippine Dobermann of yesterday and today…
